Wichert van Engelen

Wichert van Engelen (1957) makes bronze and steel sculptures in the Openbare Werkplaats Amsterdam under the name FrozenSteel.

In the bronze statues, Wichert captures the beauty of natural details in a hyper-realistic way: The Beauty of Nature in the Power of Bronze.

In addition, as a light-hearted diversion, he regularly makes: Art with a Wink.

In the steel statues, Wichert "freezes" movement in a hard material. Skating and cycling are regularly recurring themes.

Beside crafts education, Wichert is autodidact.
